MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (Aug. 10, 2016) – The Moultrie News recently recognized the Town of Mount Pleasant with a series of “Best of the Best ” awards at its annual ceremony. Mount Pleasant was awarded “Best Event Venue” for Alhambra Hall, “Best Local Event” and “Best Outdoor Event” for the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market. It was also awarded “Best Local Event Finalist” for the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade.
More than 150 representatives of East Cooper businesses and organizations converged at Alhambra Hall for the recognition event. Mount Pleasant Special Events Manager Nicole Harvey and Mount Pleasant Farmers Market Manager Tracy Richter accepted the awards on behalf of the Town.
“We are pleased to see Alhambra Hall receive this well-deserved accolade,” said Harvey. “Our elegant and historic venue is an unparalleled wedding destination on weekends, and switches flawlessly to corporate affairs during the week. Every Tuesday from April through September, starting at 3:30 p.m., the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market offers live music and family-friendly activities, a bounty of just-picked vegetables and fruits, fragrant flowers, local seafood, fresh-cooked meals, baked and canned goods, and locally produced snacks.
Richter welcomed the market’s recognition, encouraging everyone to “Get Fresh with the Locals at the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market!”
