MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (Sept. 4, 2020) – At the September Council Meeting, Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie and Town Council will consider a Temporary Ordinance requiring persons to wear face coverings in certain circumstances in the Town of Mount Pleasant to reduce risk of exposure to COVID-19 during the public health emergency and recovery. The meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall Municipal Complex, 100 Ann Edwards Lane. The Council meeting is expected to garner a large crowd. As per Governor Henry McMaster’s Executive Order, seating in Council Chambers is limited to 50 percent of normal occupancy and face coverings are required.
If you wish to speak, it is recommended that you arrive at Town Hall no later than 5 or 5:30 p.m.to allow you sufficient time to sign up. The meeting begins promptly at 6 p.m.
Public comments are offered at the beginning of the agenda and are limited to two minutes per person. You will be assigned a number upon signing up to speak and receive directional instructions from staff.
If necessary, overflow seating and viewing will be available at other locations on campus and signage and staff will direct attendees to those locations.
The council meeting will be live streamed on YouTube at our Mount Pleasant Council Meetings site. All Council meetings are videotaped and can be found on the Town website’s Agenda Center.
