MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (December 12, 2018) – Mount Pleasant Town Administrator Eric DeMoura recently named John Holladay to the position of business development manager.
Holladay brings nearly 25 years of business and economic development experience to Mount Pleasant.
“The business development manager will advance Mount Pleasant’s quality of life by fostering a vibrant economic environment favorable to businesses," said DeMoura. “John will strengthen our ability to promote the general prosperity of the community. We are excited to welcome him on board.”
Holladay previously served for eight years as program manager for Santee Cooper, where he was instrumental in forecasting and developing infrastructure programs and representing the company both locally and nationally. Prior to that, he served as an economic development senior project manager for the South Carolina Department of Parks Recreation and Tourism for six years. Holladay also has a decade of experience working in the private sector with manufacturing businesses.
In his new position, Holladay will develop and execute the Town's comprehensive economic and business development strategy as guided by Town Council. He will also be responsible for overseeing all tourism-related activities on behalf of the Town.

Holladay graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina.
He has specialized training through the highly-regarded Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and secured additional economic development training through the South Carolina Economic Development Institute, the University of North Carolina, and the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
John is a resident of Mount Pleasant where he lives with his wife and family.
