This project is part of the Coleman Boulevard Revitalization Project. This is a continuation of Shem Creek Park. The project is an independent pedestrian bridge that will span the creek making a connection with the Coleman Blvd sidewalk on the east side and the existing boardwalk on the west side. This project is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan in that it increases public access to the water, enhances sense of place, increases connectivity, and prioritizes the pedestrian environment.
Phase III Update: The final design for the next phase to provide a pedestrian overpass is complete. The Town’s Committee awarded the project to Cape Romain Contractors, with the condition of securing all permits. The Federal Critical Area Permit is under review by the Coast Guard and is anticipated to be released in November 2018.
